Treating Eczema with Reflexology

Treating Eczema with Reflexology at Home

Reflexology

Reflexology is just one of the other ways used to Treat Eczema without using Drugs. The act of applying pressure to the feet and hands with specific thumb, finger and hand techniques, has been around for nearly 3,000 years.
Although it is not as common in the West as other forms of alternative medicine, many people have found it to be effective. It is also still frequently used in the East for a variety of ills, including eczema and other skin conditions.

How reflexology works

Some say that reflexology techniques manipulate specific areas of the hands and feet that correspond to parts of the body and that these techniques, in turn, manipulate ‘qi’ - translated from the Chinese as ‘life force’ or ‘spiritual energy.
’ Western medicine doesn't generally acknowledge the existence of life force or spiritual energy, but it is the essence of medicine in many parts of the East.

Others explain reflexology in more physical terms – massaging the hands and feet with reflexology techniques affects the pressure sensors connected to glands, organs and other parts of the body so they become relaxed and restored to normal function. It also improves circulation.
Whatever the explanation, thousands of people in the West and, no doubt, millions in the East tout its benefits.

Diagnostics in reflexology incorporate the condition of the skin – texture, color, pallor, temperature and humidity, among others – and it is also said to be an effective treatment method for a variety of skin conditions, including eczema.

In reflexology, as in other practices, it is believed that Several Types of Skin Rashes Like Eczema is often caused by internal toxicity resulting from improper function of the organs. The body attempts to eliminate the toxins through the skin, which manifests as eczema or other skin conditions such as dryness, boils, and so on.

In traditional Chinese medicine, of which reflexology is a part, the skin is related to the lungs – a theory borne out by the fact that many people with eczema also have asthma or other breathing problems.
Eczema treatment within reflexology might consist of working on the adrenal glands which, in turn, release cortisone – one of the body’s natural and powerful anti-inflammatory properties.
The cortisone would reduce the inflammation in the lungs and mucous membranes, help those areas relax, open up the airways and thereby get rid of congestion and get mucous flowing out of the body and, with it, the toxins causing the breathing problems, and the eczema.

As some of the toxins we’re accumulating come directly from polluted air and chemicals in household and personal products, it is always wise to apply a shielding lotion for eczema treatment regardless of whether you’re using other treatment methods:
A good shielding lotion bonds with the outer layer of the skin to form a protective layer that keeps out chemicals.
However, to help the body with internal problems that may be causing your skin problems, you might want to give reflexology a try.

Dyshidrotic Eczema treatment

Until fairly recently, dyshidrotic eczema was considered simply a regular eczema hygienic shape. However, more recently it has been diagnosed as a type distinct from eczema, which affects mainly the hands and the feet of those who suffer with him. It can be difficult to treat and there is a high incidence of this return fairly frequently.
Dyshidrotic eczema treatment is similar to other treatments of eczema but the nature of eczema, it can be sometimes more difficult to defeat.

Fundamentally, dyshidrotic eczema treatment is two phases. First, treatment is to treat real eczema and trying to find which causes or triggering. Triggers can be very different from one person to another, that is why it is important to try to understand what are the causes of resurfacing. It is a very painful disease for those who suffer with it, especially because of the damage it can do to the hands and nails. Eczema itself causes small but deep pustuler on the hands and feet. These bulbs are extremely itchy and when scratched they tend to be infected or to
cause the surrounding skin of the crack which is very painful.

Some treatments Dyshidrotic eczema recommended uses elements that are readily available at home or can be purchased in local stores. For example to soak the hands or feet in a bath of salt of 30 to 40 minutes is supposed to help. Apply vinegar to affected areas will also alleviate some of the itching. Cleaning of the hands or feet with a paste of baking soda is also very effective treatment of eczema, Dyshidrotic. Some people have found that spreading of zinc oxide ointment on their skin is also a useful Dyshidrotic Eczema treatment.
If the skin can break; something that is quite likely to occur if the eczema is not caught and treated early, the additional care to take. Help natural moisturizers such as pure olive or coconut oil. You can see that the Aloe Vera gel is as big and soothing Dyshidrotic eczema treatment. It is important to emolliate the skin to help restore this back to health. Once the skin is healthy once more make sure that it is not free as possible eczema. The best way to do so is to keep well hydrated skin and apply medical cream at the first sign of an eczema is once more.

Can Eczema Be Treated With B Vitamins?

Vitamin B To Cure Eczema?

Taking Vitamin B is another way that can help in treating Eczema. Millions of people around the world have eczema. In fact, it’s spreading at near epidemic proportions. Unfortunately, most eczema sufferers never find a cure: The skin care products they try either don’t work at all or work only for a short time. A treatment that works today might be useless in just a few weeks or months. The same is true of medications – once the medication is stopped, the condition returns. Thousands of doctors now recommend a shielding lotion as eczema treatment, but you may also have underlying nutritional deficiencies contributing to the problem. Find out what they are, and what you can do about them.

One of the primary nutritional factors behind eczema is vitamin B deficiency. The usual suspects are B3 (niacin), B5 (pantothenic acid), B6 (pyridoxine), PABA (para-aminobenzoic acid) B7 (biotin).

Vitamin B3 is necessary for hormone production, detoxification and helping the body process carbohydrates to produce energy and form fat. While forming fat might not sound like a great idea, we’re not talking about weight or weight gain. We’re talking about good fat – the kind that is combined with dead skin cells and oils to form the protective layer of the skin. Without it, the skin loses its natural moisture which, in turn, can lead to skin problems. If you also have problems with insomnia, weakness, mental confusion or aggression, B3 may also help your eczema.

Vitamin B5 , which, like B3, also helps convert carbohydrates to energy and fat, helps the body form healthy red blood cells and antibodies, and helps it make hormones. It may also help detoxify the body. If your skin condition is accompanied by stomach discomfort, headaches, fatigue or difficulty sleeping, you may be deficient in vitamin B5.
Vitamin B6 helps process amino acids – the building blocks of all proteins and some hormones. If you find you’re not as sharp as you’d like to be or your mood is not very pleasant, you could have a B6 deficiency.

PABA , considered by some to be part of the B vitamin family, is an antioxidant that fights free radicals, helps form the red blood cells that carry oxygen through the body, enables the body to break down proteins, and maintains intestinal flora. If you have red, itchy and patchy skin or lesions along with depression, fatigue, irritability, nervousness, and constipation, chances are you need PABA.
B7, in addition to many other functions, helps the body produce new cells, maintains proper function of oil glands, and helps control glucose levels. If your blood sugar tends to run high, your eczema might be connected to B7 deficiency.

Vitamin B Benefits

As you may have noticed, many of the B vitamins have similar functions and they do work together. Sometimes it’s best to take a supplement that includes all the B vitamins but, if you’re already doing that, you may want to increase the dose of one or the other, depending on your symptoms.
Many people take vitamin B supplements on a daily basis. If you have eczema, it’s vital.
However, don’t forget the shielding lotion which is a Skin treatment recommended by dermatologists for Dry Skin care.
Vitamin B may help the internal problems but if your skin is continuously exposed to household and environmental chemicals, the nutritional handling you’re working on will be an uphill battle. Your best eczema treatment protocol is a good shielding lotion for the outside, and good nutrition for the inside – starting with vitamin B.

Other Ways To Treat Eczema Without Drugs

Can You Treat Eczema Without Drugs?

Eczema sufferers

Most Eczema Sufferers sometimes spend years switching from one prescription medication to another: Some don’t work at all, some work for only a short time, and others make the situation worse.
What many people don’t really understand is that their skin problem is often caused by contact with substances that damage the surface layer of the skin, and those substances often include the very drugs they’re using as treatment.
Hundreds of dermatologists now recommend a good shielding lotion for eczema treatment specifically because it protects the skin from those offending substances.
However, it might also be a good idea to check out your environment to see which of the offenders you might be able to eliminate.
Although many doctors automatically prescribe topical medication for eczema, there are some doctors and treatment centers advocating other lifestyle changes.
These lifestyle changes are not only improving the skin condition, they’re also resulting in a better state of health in general.

An eczema treatment center in one hospital, for example, recommends the following:

Wash linens in hot water – they often contain dust and dust mites that often cause skin problems. Vacuum and dust more frequently, and making sure you include the beds and furniture.
Switch to very mild soaps and other skin treatment products that don’t damage the protective surface layer of the skin.
Eliminate household cleansing products and personal care products that contain harsh or harmful chemicals.
Still other experts recommend clothing and linens made of natural fibers grown and processed without chemicals:
You might check out organic silk (it’s not as expensive as it used to be), cotton or hemp.
Even bamboo is now being used to manufacture clothing and household linens.
As bamboo grows very quickly and is a renewable resource, it’s also good for the environment.
Unfortunately, one of the biggest causes of eczema is something it’s very hard to get rid of – air pollution.
That’s where a shielding lotion really shines:
A good shielding lotion bonds with the outer protective layer of the skin to form a new layer that keeps out chemicals so they don’t contact the skin, and are not absorbed through the skin into the rest of the body.
If you’re tired of moving from drug to drug, and would like to live a healthier life, give these natural solutions a try.
Keeping your home dust-free, eliminating chemicals as much a possible, and using a shielding lotion to protect you from the chemicals you can’t get rid of may be all the eczema treatment you need.
And you’ll enjoy the other health benefits of a chemical and drug-free life.
On The Next Blog We will be discussing other Treatment Like: Treating Eczema by Reflexology.

Several Types of Skin Rashes Like Eczema

There are Several Types of Skin Rashes.

7 Types Of Skin Rashes

Each has different characteristics, and each is better treated with a skin care product specifically designed for that condition. There are some exceptions to that rule: Many rashes have characteristics in common, and there are some skin treatment products that are good for a variety of problems - a good shielding lotion, for example, is an excellent dry skin and eczema treatment product, but also brings relief to those with psoriasis and other skin conditions.
However, if you have a rash, it’s a good idea to know how to differentiate between one type of skin rash and another so you can ensure your treatment is correct.
The most common rashes are athlete’s foot, eczema, allergic reactions to food or drugs, hives, seborrhea, ringworm and rosacea.

Types of Skin Rashes and their Differences

Athlete’s foot is characterized by inflammation, scaling, cracking and blistering. It’s usually found between the toes but, when severe, can spread to the sides and soles of the foot.

Eczema can be found anywhere on the body. It usually appears as scaling, flaking skin that may be thicker than on other areas of the body. It’s also itchy and, like, athlete’s foot can be painful. If not properly taken care of, it can easily become infected, in which case red, puss-filled sores may develop. It can affect skin color as well - usually brownish or red.

Allergic reactions to foods or drugs usually produce flat, pink or red rashes that may or may not include swelling or itching.

Hives usually appear suddenly. They form tiny spots like goose bumps or red, itchy welts anywhere on the body.

Seborrhea consists of greasy, yellowish patches that form scales and crusts. It’s most common on the scalp, but can also appear on the face or chest.

Ringworm, while not as common as the others, appears as small, round spots – about a quarter inch in diameter – with slightly scaly edges. The center clears up as it spreads.

Rosacea usually affects the nose and the middle of the face, is usually reddish, and includes very small bumps and pimples.

While it’s likely you may experience some relief using eczema treatment for any of these rashes, you may not get down to the bottom of things so you can fully recover. Thousands of doctors now recommend a good shielding lotion for eczema treatment as well as treatment of many other skin conditions: A good shielding lotion locks in moisture and keeps chemicals out so the skin can heal itself.
However, if you have an allergic reaction to food, for example, no eczema treatment product will do anything but bring temporary relief of the symptoms. To get at the cause, you also have to find out what food is causing the reaction, and stop eating it.
If you have a rash, give shielding lotion a try. If the rash does not resolve, it’s best to see your dermatologist to locate the source of the problem. Eczema treatment with shielding lotion is very effective, but if the problem is an allergy to wheat or dairy or, in the case of ringworm, a parasite infection, you should also check with your doctor to make sure you’re getting all the treatment you need.

Has anybody out there who suffers with skin eczema found sucess in seeing a chinese herbalist for treatment?

My partner sufferes with eczema all over his body particually arms, feet, legs and bum. It is quite severe and tends to weep regular. He is under the hospital who have given him a number of creams etc to help and treat his condition. Non of which seem to be helping. Recently he has been to see a chinese herbalist who said that his condition is a very bad case in this country (uk). He has now been given various herbal remedies as the herbalist assumes that the creams and lotions given by the doctors are actually feeding the condition rather than helping. Has anyone found this a success?

I've got psoriasis, I'm clearly not an expert, but I believe very much in a holistic approach. I used to be covered from neck to toe, and now I've on ony 6 small dots of it. No cream has ever done me any good.

Please seriously try cutting out dairy for 3 weeks, and if that doesn't work, try cutting out wheat and gluten. Also, try to eliminate any stress the guy is under.

I don't believe in Chinese medicine, but it is more from a moral standpoint than a medical one (They use the ground up horn of an endangered Rhino for an aphrodisiac amongst other things), but I found homeopathy to be absolutely amazing, where conventional medicine had done nothing.

  • my son got completely free of his eczema using a Chinese doctor it was costly but so worth it. We had used everything and I hate using hydrocortizone all the time.
but listen my aunt went to a herbalist who made her take a mix of herbs when she got worse the herbalist told her it was the eczema leaving her body she did this for ages and was worse she then found out it was plants and pollen that give her eczema so the herbs were causing the eczema .
I suggest your partner does a patch test to see what he's allergic to and my son showed signs of improvement within days .
lucky for him it looked like it was infant eczema and at 18 its gone without using anything

  • My daughter suffers from chronic psoriasis and has been hospitalised 7 times in the past three years for 5-6 weeks at a time. She also has had all the conventional treatment which i agree with you just helps heal the surface of the skin but doesn't treat the cause. I took her to one of these herbalists and spent over £100 on pills and lotions which didn't help one iota. I, just like you would like to find a remedy for such debilitating skin conditions.

I have been looking on the net and i have found another remedy called "Oregon grape root extract" which i am trying to order at the moment. We have got to the stage where we will try anything that might give her some comfort. Good luck

  • Not personally, but I know of someone who took their child to a chinese herbalist. They were given all these strange herbs to steep in water and give to the child who had bad eczema. It did disappear after two weeks (the exzema, not the child). So give it a try, and good luck.

  • Several years ago my husband had a case of eczema that a dermatologist called the worst he'd seen in twenty years of practice. He prescribed a cream and a very strong oral medication called Neoral that I believe is also used to fight organ rejection. This did the trick--but, again, this was very strong medication with some side effects.
