The aloe Vera plant comes from the Lilly family, and is known for it’s long thick leaves. Most aloe Vera plants do not grow more than a few foot tall and stay fairly well contained. When broken apart, the leaves of the aloe Vera plant reveal a thick gel, which is used in many homeopathic remedies. Some issues which may arise, include upset stomach and diarrhea, although, one of the most effective uses for aloe Vera juice, is to relieve constipation naturally and effectively. Consumption of aloe Vera is a great way to supplement one’s dietary habits, as it is rich in several essential vitamins and minerals. One of the benefits of aloe Vera, is that it aids in chronic fatigue by increasing one’s energy levels. This is partially due to the amounts of B vitamins which are found in aloe Vera. Aloe Vera can be mixed into one’s favorite drink, or consumed by itself. There are now several aloe Vera “energy” drinks available on the market, and can be found at local health food stores.

The consumption of certain foods has been known to enable the body to work more efficiently, especially during times of stress, and while in heavily polluted areas. Questions about Aloe Vera plants?

About how much would a small aloe vera plant cost? Would it be okay growing inside or would it have to be outside? When you break one of its leaves to get the aloe, will that leaf heal and repair or will it die and another leaf will grow in its place? At what rate do aloe vera plants produce more leaves and the aloe liquid inside the leaves? Will there be good effects if I drink the liquid? Are there other beginner gardener plants that have healing powers like the aloe vera plant?

You should be able to get a small plant for under 5 dollars at most garden centers orWalmart. I have grown mine inside for years and it does wonderfull. Just needs a sunny location and a little water every week. Remember this is a desert plant so don't over water. The leaves dont heal themselves the end you cut off just turns brown but the rest of the leaf is ok. As for drinking the liquid I have seen it in health food stores but you wold have to have alot of large plants to produce enough to drink.

  • If you have a friend with one, ask if he/she will pot you up a bit the next time theirs needs to be divided. Mine's been growing inside for about 15 years, got half burned up in a kitchen fire, and has supplied plants for several people. It's the only indoor plant I've had any success with (my talents lie with veggies and herbs outdoors).
